Re: Feed Back for My Website? The images on your home page are quite large: http://www.townofgilbert.org/images/School/High/SharieCato2005.jpg is 720x924, for example, and over 150 KB. Your HTML asks our web browsers to reduce it to 132x169 when we view it on your home page, but it still wastes a huge amount of bandwidth. The other image on your home page is even larger, 1744x1360 and about 600 KB. Neither of those images should be larger than 20 KB. You need to use your image editor to: (1) resize each image to the exact size you want it to appear on your site, and (2) use JPEG compression to optimize the images to an appropriate file size. As it is, dial-up users may just give up and hit the Back button rather than wait for the images to appear. |
