Re: What is the best WYSIWYG web design software for a beginner to use for a business website?I know other designers will rip me for this, but I would say Frontpage by Microsoft is the easiest for a beginner to use. However, if you ever want to expand it later and make it more professional, don't use Frontpage since it notorious for bad underlying code and encouraging Microsoft specific features that might not work well in all browsers. Adobe/Macromedia Dreamweaver might be your next choice. It is similar to Frontpage, but is better at making sure your code and features work in all browsers. I've messed around with Adobe GoLive a little, but found it very confusing. Others might have had a different experience. There is also always handcoding. Handcoding in a text editor like Homesite is the best way to go since you will have complete control of your code. All WYSIWYG editors screw around with your underlying code that can cause you unwanted results. And even when you use a WYSIWYG editor, you'll need to know a little HTML to get the best benefits and make things just right. |
